Sorry!!

I just wanted to say I'm sorry that I haven't updated my blog in a long time! So much has happened since last time. Erica is in Ohio and she seems to be doing great, still adjusting to life there, but still great!
Mom has had some problems. She was diagnosed with breast cancer (just in time for breast cancer awareness month... ) She had surgery on Monday and seems to be doing okay. She's in a lot of pain but she has really good doctors taking care of her. We found out that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes so she will have to do chemo and radiation. We have a lot of adventures coming up with that. I was pondering the other day how you don't pay attention to things until they effect you or someone you love personally. I didn't really ever pay attention to breast cancer until my mom was hit with it.... now I care about it.
We've been really blessed along the way. There are so many things to be grateful for.

OH MY GOSH!! I had no idea that Valene had such an awesome job!! She looks so cute as Pam from "The Office". hehe!!

CALLED TO SERVE IN THE....

OHIO COLUMBUS MISSION!

Erica is really excited to go to Columbus Ohio on her mission. When she opened her call and started reading where she was going she said, "oh.... OH!!" and her eyes got really big and excited. We all cheered really loud for her and then again when we found out she would be leaving to enter the MTC on September 10, 2008.


Unfortunalty, nobody guessed Ohio on our "Where in the World is Erica going?" map. Does that mean that we all have to take her out for dinner..... ?

We gave Pepe a bath and put him in his little "missionary"shirt. I know he's going to miss his other mom, but he knows that she is doing a great thing. I also think that Erica is going to miss him more than her other family members.....

THE Letter

We just recieved Erica's mission call!!!! We get to open it tonight when everyone is at home and I am very excited! Valene said that it was very thick.... maybe too thick to be in the states....?

This is the cute map that we made to guess where Erica is going on her mission. We are all very excited and nervous!!! We have some good guesses from all our family, friends, and co-workers. Hopefully we will get the news today or maybe next week. I'll let you know!

Erica is going to be a really good missionary and I love her to pieces!!
